WHERE IT ALL BEGAN: TWO FOUNDERS, ONE BIG IDEA

D&D’s story starts in Sydney, when David Doyle and Neil Dunne created D&D Aluminium Balustrading. The name “D&D” came from their initials — fitting for a company built on the hands‑on ingenuity of its founders.

It was here that the spark for one of the world’s most important gate‑safety innovations was first lit.

One evening, inspired by a TV science program on rare‑earth magnets, David Doyle imagined something that didn’t yet exist: a magnetic gate latch that wouldn’t jam, wouldn’t rust, and would close reliably every time.

This idea became the foundation for the very first MagnaLatch® — hand‑built and installed on D&D Aluminium gates. That early prototype would go on to reshape the safety standards of an entire industry.

Recognizing the potential of this invention, the founders formed D&D Technologies, marking the moment the company transformed from a small operation into a manufacturing pioneer.

A BRAND EVOLUTION THAT HONORS THE PAST — AND STRENGTHENS THE FUTURE

Today, we’re excited to unveil a refreshed visual identity that reflects the strength, clarity, and confidence of the D&D brand.

While D&D Technologies remains our legal name, our public-facing identity will now appear simply as D&D, supported by a cleaner, more unified logo.
