FREE CONTINUING
EDUCATION COURSE.

D&D Technologies provides a free continued education course. The goal of the course is to educate architects, specifiers, designers and contractors on subjects such as:

• Identifying the different types of gates available, such as swing and sliding gate, gate materials, and the types of gate hardware that can be used to maintain perimeter security.

• Discussing how to specify and install gate hardware of the correct type, positioning, and spacing to safely support and allow proper movement of gates.

• Classifying gate configurations, hardware, hinges and locking mechanisms and the attributes of a variety of fence designs to determine how they contribute to specific visual criteria and security needs.

• Assessing factors such as aesthetics, safety, security, efficiency, and the surrounding environment to specify the most appropriate gate system for a specific application. Course Credits will be accepted by the following associations listed below:

This free CEU course was developed by D&D Technologies to help participants learn how to select gate hardware for function, safety, and code compliance.

Course Description: Considering gate hardware early in the design process enhances the aesthetics and functionality of perimeter security. Gate hardware balances durability, security, and ease-of-use without detracting from the design. This course examines latches, plain pivot and self-closing hinges, closers and accessories for swing gates, and wheels for sliding gates; it also offers guidance on specification and installation.

This free course is available for self-paced online education for professional education credit.
